The mission of the Lake Elsinore Valley Education Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, is to provide scholarships to college bound LEUSD students. Providing books to elementary age students is a new program started this year. The Foundation was created in honor of former LEUSD Superintendent Dr. Sharron Lindsay, who envisioned it as a lasting way for the community to help support students of all abilities to pursue a college education. Fundraising activities for scholarships include an annual golf tournament in April and partnerships with local businesses.

2017 Trunk or Treat

We recently gave out over 600 books to the children in the Wildomar community through the Trunk Or Treat event  held at Marna O'Brien Park. Kudos to Janet Morales and the City of Wildomar for putting on such a great family event. This was our second year to participate and we had another great giveaway!  Wowza SIX HUNDRED!

Books Coming Soon To A Kid Near You!

This past summer, the LEVEF gave away nearly 500 books to the kids in the Summer Literacy Camps held at schools throughout the LEUSD. Before the end of 2017, we are planning to give out another 700 books to Kindergarten through 2nd grades by visiting local schools, gifting the Cops 4 Kids Holiday Program and dropping off books to the Sparks of Love Toy Drive sponsored through our local Cal Fire Stations serving the Lake Elsinore Community.

WINTERFEST 2017

The City of Lake Elsinore has another great family event planned called Winterfest. This event is highlighted by a small parade, local craft and food vendors, family activities, snow and a visit from Santa! Best of all, most of the activities are free or low cost. The date is Saturday, December 2, 2017 in Historic Downtown on Main Street. Time is 5 to 9 p.m., dress warm and get ready for fun! Don't forget to look for our booth where kids will be able to win books, pencils or book markers!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR COLLABORATION ELKS!

The Elks Lodge in Wildomar has sponsored our First Book Program allowing us to purchase over 2,700 books in 2016 & 17 and more than 2,000 for 2018. Through their Grant Program  they received $4,500 over a two year period and joined forces with us to get books into the hands of kids throughout our valley! We thank them for their generosity. Hip Hip Hooray ELKS! Special Kudos to Helene and her ladies for all their hard work!

Partnership With Edison and Schools First Credit Union

In 2017  the LEVEF partnered with SCEdison to provide $5,000 in scholarships to students in the LEUSD. Incorporating S.T.E.M. into the scholarship application process we can assist SCEdison in providing monies to seniors who plan to pursue education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. It was Thomas Edison who stated " There's a way to do it better - find it ". SC Edison has found a perfect way to get scholarship monies into the hands of seniors by their collaboration with the LEVEF! Our resources and their monies a perfect combination. The Schools First Credit Union supported the annual Golf Tournament as a sponsor allowing us to provide a scholarship to a worthy senior. Way to go Schools First!
